Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's Current Injury Status For Thunder-76ers Game
UPDATE: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been ruled out (h/t Brandon Rahbar of Daily Thunder).
On Tuesday evening, the Oklahoma City Thunder will face off against the Philadelphia 76ers in Pennsylvania.
For the game, the Thunder could be without their best player, as superstar guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is on the injury report.
Via ESPN's Tim Bontemps: "Jalen Williams won’t play and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t participate in shootaround but got treatment and is questionable for tonight against Philadelphia, Thunder coach Mark Daignault says."
Gilgeous-Alexander has had a fantastic season with averages of 30.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.1 steals per contest while shooting 53.9% from the field and 36.5% from the three-point range in 71 games.
The Thunder have been among the best teams in the league and are the first seed in the Western Conference with a 52-22 record in 74 games.
They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game winning streak.
Most recently, the Thunder defeated the New York Knicks (at Madison Square Garden) by a score of 113-112.
Gilgeous-Alexander had 19 points, two rebounds, three assists and one steal while shooting 7/16 from the field and 1/4 from the three-point range in 35 minutes of playing time.
Following the 76ers, the Thunder will play their next game on Wednesday evening when they visit Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics.
As for the 76ers, they are the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 40-35 record in 75 games.
They have gone 4-6 over their last ten games.
Following Oklahoma City, the 76ers will viist the Miami Heat on Thursday evening.
