Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's Official Injury Status For Thunder-Hornets Game

On Sunday evening, the Oklahoma City Thunder will be in North Carolina to face off against the Charlotte Hornets.

For the game, they will remain without their best player, as All-Star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been ruled out.

The former Kentucky star has missed each of the previous three games, so this will be his fourth straight out of the starting lineup.

Via Sam Perley of Hornets.com on Saturday: "Oklahoma City listing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (right quad contusion) as out for tomorrow's game in Charlotte; will be his sixth absence in seven games."

Gilgeous-Alexander has had another incredible season with averages of 30.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.1 steals per contest while shooting 53.9% from the field and 36.5% from the three-point range in 71 games.

The Thunder are the third seed in the Western Conference with a 52-25 record in 77 games.

They have gone 5-5 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a three-game losing streak.

Following their matchup with the Hornets, the Thunder will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they host the Sacramento Kings in Oklaohma City.

As for the Hornets, they have had a tough season and are the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 19-58 record in 77 games.

They have gone 2-8 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Orlando Magic by a score of 124-115.

Following the Thunder, the Hornets will host the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday evening in North Carolina.
