Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's Current Injury Status For Thunder-Knicks Game
UPDATE: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is available (h/t ESPN's Tim Bontemps).
On Sunday evening, the Oklahoma City Thunder will face off against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan.
For the game, the Thunder could remain without their best player, as All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is on the injury report.
The former Kentucky star has missed each of the previous two games, so this would be his third straight out the lineup (if he doesn't play).
Via Joel Lorenzi of Oklahoman Sports: "Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who’s been dealing with a quad injury, has been upgraded to questionable ahead of tonight’s game at MSG."
Gilgeous-Alexander has had an incredible season with averages of 30.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.1 steals per contest while shooting 54.0% from the field and 36.7% from the three-point range in 70 games.
The Thunder are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 51-22 record in 73 games.
They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Phoenix Suns (at home) by a score of 128-103.
Following New York, the Thunder will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers.
As for the Knicks, they are the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 44-29 record in 73 games.
They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the San Antonio Spurs (in overtime) by a score of 130-126.
Following Oklahoma City, the Knicks will visit Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat on Tuesday evening in Florida.
