Steve Kerr Announces Latest On Andrew Wiggins Before Pelicans-Warriors Game
On Tuesday evening, the Golden State Warriors are hosting the New Orleans Pelicans at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Andrew Wiggins has been ruled out for his 20th straight game due to personal reasons.
Before tip-off, head coach Steve Kerr met with the media and shared the latest update about Wiggins.
Via Anthony Slater of The Athletic: "Still no timetable update from Steve Kerr on Andrew Wiggins. Did say he’s been working out on a daily basis, but team wouldn’t know about his game conditioning until he got back in building. 20th straight missed game tonight."
Prior to his extended absence from the team, Wiggins had been in the middle of another productive season.
He has averages of 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals per contest in 37 games.
The former Kansas star is also shooting 47.3% from the field and 39.6% from the three-point range.
Last year, he was a big reason why the Warriors were able to win their fourth NBA Championship in the previous eight seasons.
Right now, the Warriors are tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot) in the Western Conference.
They have a 39-37 record in 76 games and are 5-5 in their last ten.
At home, the Warriors have been sensational, going 30-8 in the 38 games they have hosted at the Chase Center.
Wiggins is in his ninth season in the NBA and played for the Minnesota Timberwolves before getting traded to the Warriors in 2019.
