Steve Kerr's Surprising Quote After Golden State Warriors Lose Game 4
On Monday evening, the Golden State Warriors lost 104-101 to the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena in Game 4 of their second-round playoff series.
The loss was extra significant because they are now in a 3-1 hole, going back to the Chase Center for Game 5 on Wednesday evening in San Fransisco.
The Warriors had a seven-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but they lost the final period by a score of 27-17.
Lonnie Walker scored 15 points for the Lakers in the fourth quarter, and the Warriors were also called for several illegal screens.
After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr met with the media and, while giving an answer about the fourth quarter, was very honest in his remarks.
Kerr: "The Lakers are a team that plays with a lot of gamesmanship. They understand how to generate some calls. I thought they took some flops and were rewarded. I'll have to see the replays. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe those were all illegal screens, but it didn't feel like it watching it live."
LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the Lakers by coming to score 50 points and grab 24 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Steph Curry had 31 points, ten rebounds, 14 assists and three steals for the Warriors.
After the two teams split Games 1 and 2 at the Chase Center, the Lakers were able to win both Games 3 and 4 on their home floor.
During the 2023 NBA Playoffs, the Lakers are 5-0 at home, while the Warriors are 2-4 in six games on the road.
