Stinar For 3: The Latest On Kyrie Irving And The Brooklyn Nets

FastBreak on FanNation reporter Ben Stinar sat down with publisher Tom Brew to talk about Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets in Episode 3 of our daily video on hot topics around the league.

Kyrie Irving cannot play in home-games in Brooklyn, New York, due to the New York City vaccine mandate.

There was debate over if he could be a part-time player, but the Brooklyn Nets came out on Tuesday and said that they would not allow him to play until he can be a full participant.

The latest:

Irving went on Instagram live on Wednesday evening and discussed the rumors of retirement that were circling around, and his current status and thoughts on the vaccine.

The clip of his Instagram live video can be seen embedded in a video below from NBA Central.

Does an Irving absent ruin their title chances?

Kyrie Irving got injured in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals last year against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Irving did not play in any games after that, and the Bucks won the series in seven games.

James Harden also dealt with an injury during that series, but he played in the Game 7 that the Nets lost on their home court.

There's the proof that as good as Harden and Kevin Durant are, there is still the strong possibility that they do not make the NBA Finals if they are without their seven-time All-Star point guard/shooting guard.

The Bucks went won the NBA Championship, and there are also teams like the Atlanta Hawks (led by superstar Trae Young), and the Philadelphia 76ers (led by superstar Joel Embiid) that all have the rosters to compete for an NBA title especially of Irving is out.
