Javon Freeman-Liberty played his college basketball for Valparaiso and DePaul.

He went undrafted in 2022 and spent his first year as a pro playing in the G League for the Windy City Bulls.

The 23-year-old averaged a very solid 17.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 49.7% from the field and 39.0% from the three-point range in 16 regular season games (he also appeared in 18 Showcase Cup games).

On Friday evening, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Toronto Raptors will sign Freeman-Liberty to a two-way contract.

Via Wojnarowski: "Free agent G Javon Freeman-Liberty has agreed on a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors, his agents Luke and Keith Glass tell ESPN. Liberty-Freeman averaged 21 points for the Bulls in the Vegas Summer League."

Based on his play in the G League last year, this could be a good signing for the Raptors.

A two-way contract provides no risk, and he will be able to still play in the G League in addition to the NBA.

Freeman-Liberty also confirmed the signing by quote-tweeting Wojnarowski's post.

As for the Raptors, they are coming off a year where they went 41-41 and finished as the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference.

They lost to the Chicago Bulls in their first play-in tournament game, so the Raptors were unable to make the postseason.

The franchise won the 2019 NBA Championship over the Golden State Warriors but has only been able to win one playoff series since its title.
