Toronto Raptors Star Fined $2,000 By NBA

RJ Barrett was fined by the NBA following Friday's game.

On Friday evening, the Toronto Raptors lost to the Utah Jazz (in Salt Lake City) by a score of 145-113.   

The Jazz were led by Lauri Markkanen, who put up 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one steal while shooting 7/11 from the field and 4/6 from the three-point range.  

RJ Barrett has had an excellent start to his tenure with the Raptors but struggled in Friday's loss. 

The former Duke star had four points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and three blocks while shooting 2/9 from the field and 0/2 from the three-point range in 30 minutes of playing time.   

In addition, Barrett was fined $2,000 by the NBA (after the game).

Barrett was traded via the New York Knicks last month and is currently averaging 18.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest while shooting 44.8% from the field and 36.3% from the three-point range in 33 games.

With the loss to the Jazz, the Raptors fell to 15-24 in their first 39 games, which has them as the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference.

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and are in the middle of a three-game losing streak.

On Monday evening, the Raptors will host Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics in Canada.

On the road, they are 6-15 in 21 games, while they have gone 9-9 in 18 games at home.
