On Friday evening, the San Antonio Spurs are hosting LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets in Texas.  

During the first half, star rookie Victor Wembanyama threw down a big dunk that got a lot of views on social media.    

Jeremy Sochan passed the ball to Wembanyama, who then dunked the ball without taking one dribble.

Wembanyama is one of the frontrunners to win the 2024 Rookie of The Year Award. 

The 20-year-old entered the evening with averages of 19.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.2 blocks per contest while shooting 44.7% from the field and 28.8% from the three-point range in 32 games. 

While he has played well, the Spurs have struggled and are the 15th seed in the Western Conference with a 6-30 record in their first 36 games. 

In their most recent game, they beat the Detroit Pistons by a score of 130-108. 

Wembanyama had 16 points, 12 rebounds and ten assists while shooting 6/16 from the field in 21 minutes of playing time. 

Following the Hornets, the Spurs will host the Chicago Bulls on Saturday in San Antonio. 

At home, they are 2-15 in 17 games.

As for the Hornets, they are the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with an 8-27 record in their first 35 games. 

They are 1-9 over their last ten games and also in the middle of a three-game losing streak. 

Following the Spurs, the Hornets will visit Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat on Sunday evening in Florida.
