Victor Wembanyama's Dunk Is Going Viral In Spurs-Nuggets Game
On Sunday evening, the San Antonio Spurs are in Colorado, facing off against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
During the first half, Victor Wembanyama had an exciting dunk that is going viral on social media.
Tre Jones threw a lob to Wembanyama, who then dunked it over point guard Reggie Jackson.
In addition to the dunk, Wembanyama got a free throw, as Jackson was called for a foul.
Wembanyama came into the evening with averages of 19.0 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.6 blocks per contest while shooting 43.1% from the field and 26.7% from the three-point range.
The Spurs are 3-13 in their first 16 games and in the middle of an 11-game losing streak.
Most recently, they lost to the Golden State Warriors by a score of 118-112 at the Chase Center on Friday.
In 35 minutes of playing time, Wembanyama had 22 points, nine rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks while shooting 8/18 from the field and 1/6 from the three-point range.
Following the Nuggets, the Spurs will play their next game against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday evening in Texas.
The Spurs are coming off a season where they were the 15th seed in the Western Conference with a 22-60 record.
They have missed the NBA playoffs in each of the previous four seasons and do not look like they will be a contender to make the 2024 postseason.
That said, there is a lot of excitement around the team, as Wembanyama has a chance to be a superstar.
