Victor Wembanyama's Game-Saving Block Went Viral In Spurs-Pelicans Game

On Friday evening, the San Antonio Spurs faced off against the New Orleans Pelicans in Louisiana.

The game was close, but the Spurs won by a score of 111-109.

Star rookie Victor Wembanyama led the way with 17 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, one steal and three blocks while shooting 5/12 from the field and 3/6 from the three-point range in 34 minutes of playing time.

With 13 seconds left, Wembanyama made a game-saving block that got a lot of views on social media.

Wembanyama has become one of the most exciting players in the NBA and will have an excellent chance to win the 2024 Rookie of The Year Award.

That said, the Spurs are in rebuilding mode and are the 15th seed in the Western Conference with a 19-58 record in 77 games.

The victory over New Orleans snapped a two-game losing streak.

Following the Pelicans, the Spurs will play their next game on Sunday evening when they host the Philadelphia 76ers in San Antonio, Texas.

As for the Pelicans, they were led by CJ McCollum, who finished with 31 points, six rebounds, five assists and one block while shooting 13/29 from the field in 40 minutes of playing time.

The team dropped to 45-32 in 77 games, which has them as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

They are in the middle of a four-game losing streak.

Following San Antonio, the Pelicans will play their next game on Sunday evening when they visit Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns in Arizona.
