Victor Wembanyama Gives Update On Ankle Following Jazz-Spurs Game

Victor Wembanyama met with the media after Tuesday's game.

On Tuesday evening, the San Antonio Spurs hosted the Utah Jazz in Texas.

The Spurs lost the game by a score of 130-118, and Lauri Markkanen led the way with 31 points and 12 rebounds.

Rookie Victor Wembanyama returned to the lineup after a one-game absence, and finished his night with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and five blocks while shooting 6/15 from the field and 1/4 from the three-point range.

He had missed Saturday's game against the Dallas Mavericks after accidentally stepping on a Mavs employee during warmups.

Following Tuesday's loss, Wembanyama was asked about his ankle when he met with the media

Reporter: "Victor, how was the ankle tonight?"

Wembanyama: "It was fine. No pain or discomfort."

Reporter: "In terms of movement, you didn't really feel any effects?"

Wembanyama: "No.. sometimes I think about it as if like I think not to twist it, but otherwise, I'm good."

Wembanyama has had a strong start to his rookie season and is averaging 18.3 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.0 blocks per contest while shooting 43.3% from the field and 27.8% from the three-point range in 26 games.

That said, the Spurs have struggled in a significant way and are currently the 15th seed (last place) in the Western Conference with a 4-25 record in their first 29 games.

They are 1-9 over their last ten games and in the middle of a five-game losing streak.

Following the Jazz, the Spurs will now play the Portland Trail Blazers in Oregon on Thursday.
