Victor Wembanyama's Ridiculous Dunk Is Going Viral In Spurs-Rockets Game
On Monday evening, the San Antonio Spurs faced off against the Rockets in Houston (the Rockets won by a score of 92-83).
During the second half, Victor Wembanyama had a sensational dunk that is going viral on social media.
Wembanyama caught a pass and went straight up for a dunk on Alperen Sengun, who tried to defend the rim.
In addition to the poster dunk, he also got a free throw as Sengun was called for a foul on the play.
Wembanyama finished the game with 15 points, 18 rebounds, three assists and five blocks while shooting 7/15 from the field and 1/6 from the three-point range in 33 minutes of playing time.
The 19-year-old came into the evening with averages of 19.0 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.7 blocks per contest while shooting 43.0% from the field and 25.5% from the three-point range in 20 games.
He was also coming off an excellent performance (on Friday against the Chicago Bulls) where he put up 21 points, 20 rebounds, four assists, one steal and four blocks while shooting 8/20 from the field and 32 minutes of playing time.
The Spurs have struggled despite Wembanyama's success, and are now with a 3-19 record in their first 22 games.
They are in the middle of a 17-game losing streak and the 15th seed in the Western Conference.
Following Monday's game with the Rockets, the Spurs will play their next game on Wednesday evening when they host LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in Texas.
