Victor Wembanyama's Viral Quote After Lakers-Spurs Game

Victor Wembanyama met with the media after Friday's game.

On Friday evening, the San Antonio Spurs hosted LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in Texas. 

The Spurs won the game by a score of 129-115, which snapped an 18-game losing streak (Devin Vassell led the team with 36 points). 

Victor Wembanyama put up 13 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks while shooting 5/13 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time. 

After the game, Wembanyama met with the media and shared a fantastic statement, which got a lot of attention on social media (h/t Bleacher Report). 

He was asked about his celebration at the end of the game. 

Wembanyama: "This is what I'm addicted to, winning. This is what I love. It's what I live for, so I have to show it."

Wembanyama has played in 23 games so far this season and is averaging 19.0 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.9 blocks per contest while shooting 43.5% from the field and 27.8% from the three-point range. 

The 2023 first-overall pick has gotten off to a great start to his NBA career, but the Spurs have struggled in a big way. 

They are 4-20 in their first 24 games, which has them as the 15th seed (last place) in the Western Conference. 

Following the Lakers, they will now host the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. 

As for the Lakers, they fell to 15-11 in their first 26 games, which has them as the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
