Warriors Make Starting Lineup Change For Kings Game

On Wednesday evening, the Golden State Warriors will host the Sacramento Kings at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, for their fourth preseason game (they are 3-0).
For the game, the Warriors will have a different starting lineup than they have had in their first three preseason games.
Via Anthony Slater of The Athletic: "Warriors testing out different lineup combinations tonight. Chris Paul coming off the bench. Kevon Looney is not feeling well. Out tonight. The Warriors are starting Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga and Trayce Jackson-Davis."

Paul is one of the greatest players ever and has never come off the bench during a regular season game.
While it's only the preseason, the decision from head coach Steve Kerr is fascinating.
In addition, Jackson-Davis was the 57th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, so this is his first time starting in an NBA game.
Here’s Steve Kerr on Chris Paul coming off the bench tonight. Sounds like part of it is getting Paul in a pick-and-roll heavy lineup.

The Warriors are coming off a 121-115 victory over the Kings on Sunday, and Kuminga led the way with 28 points in 34 minutes.

Last season, the Warriors were the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 44-38 record.
They had an up-and-down season but still made the NBA playoffs without having to play in the play-in tournament.
In the first round, the Warriors beat the Kings (in seven games), but they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round (in six games).
On October 24, they will play their first game of the regular season when they host the Phoenix Suns.
