On Sunday afternoon, the Golden State Warriors blew out the Portland Trail Blazers 157-101 on the road in Oregon during their final regular season game of the year.

With the victory, they finished their season 44-38 and also clinched the sixth seed in the Western Conference, which is the last guaranteed playoff spot.

During the game, five-time All-Star Klay Thompson made NBA history by moving up on the all-time scoring list

Thompson entered the day with 14,136 points, which ranked 178th on the list and only needed 20 to move ahead of Eddie Jones (14,155) for 177th.

The former Washington State star finished the game with 20 points, five rebounds and one assist on 7/14 shooting from the field and 6/11 from the three-point range in just 22 minutes of playing time.

While the Warriors have had an up-and-down season, they will avoid having to play in the play-in tournament and are going to face off with the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

The biggest struggles for the team came on the road, where they went just 11-30 in 41 games.

However, the Warriors were a sensational 33-8 in the 41 games they hosted on their home floor at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

Thompson finished the season with averages of 21.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 43.6% from the field and 41.2% from the three-point range.

The 33-year-old has helped the Warriors win the NBA Championship in four out of the previous eight seasons.
