On Monday evening, the Washington Wizards lost to the Detroit Pistons by a score of 129-117 (at home).

Following the game (on Tuesday), the Wizards announced that they had made a roster move.

Via The Washington Wizards: "Official: We have assigned Johnny Davis to the @CapitalCityGoGo."

Davis played one minute in Monday's loss to the Pistons and is currently averaging 2.5 points and 1.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range in 19 games.

The former Wisconsin star was the tenth pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and is in his second season in the league.

Over 47 games, Davis has career averages of 4.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 39.7% from the field and 24.7% from the three-point range.

Considering the 21-year-old is only averaging 7.9 minutes of playing time per contest, assigning him to the G League is a good solution for him to get more playing time.

As for the Wizards, they have gotten off to a slow start to the season and are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 7-32 record in their first 39 games.

They are 2-8 over their last ten games and will play their next matchup on Thursday evening when they visit Julius Randle and the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

On the road, the Wizards are 4-18 in 22 games, while they have gone 3-14 in the 17 games they have hosted in Washington, D.C.
