Washington Wizards Player Shares Honest Statement About Jordan Poole
On Friday evening, the Washington Wizards hosted the New York Knicks.
They lost by a score of 120-99, which drops them to 2-10 in their first 12 games.
Jordan Poole's struggles continued, as he finished the night with eight points, four rebounds and one assist while shooting 2/11 from the field and 0/6 from the three-point range in 29 minutes of playing time.
Following the game, Tyus Jones (who had 11 points, three rebounds, five assists and one steal) spoke highly of his teammate, Poole (h/t Hoop District).
Jones: "He cares a lot. You can see that, and he puts the work in, and again, things will flip. It'll figure itself out. We know that we all have confidence in him. He knows that as well. He's just gotta stick with it. He's probably putting a little too much pressure on himself. But it comes from a place of care and wanting to be great and wanting to succeed. Wanting to play well for not only himself but for his teammates, for the city, for the organization."
Poole is in his first season with the Wizards after getting traded (via the Golden State Warriors) over the offseason.
Right now, the 2022 NBA Champion is averaging 15.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 39.2% from the field and 27.8% from the three-point range in his first 12 games with the Wizards.
Following the Knicks, they will play their next game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday at home.
