Why Is This Recent Lakers Player Still A Free Agent?
Kendrick Nunn spent the 2022-23 NBA season with the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers (he was traded from Los Angeles to Washington in January).
The former Illinois and Oakland college star averaged 7.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 42.4% from the field and 35.4% from the three-point range in 70 regular season games.
This summer, Nunn became a free agent, and he still remains available to be signed by any team in the league on October 13.
Nunn is a talented guard and is still just 28 years old, so he is in the prime of his career.
Therefore, he could be an excellent addition to many teams, and with the regular season tipping off in less than two weeks, he will be a name to keep an eye on.
Nunn initially went undrafted in 2018 after averaging 25.9 points per contest during his finals season of college.
In addition to the Wizards and Lakers, he has also spent time with the Miami Heat.
His career averages are 12.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 45.1% from the field and 36.2% from the three-point range in 193 regular season games.
Following his first two seasons in the NBA with the Heat, Nunn missed the entire 2021-22 season due to injury.
As for the Wizards (whom Nunn most recently played for), they are coming off a season where they went 35-47 and finished as the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference.
