On Monday evening, the New Orleans Pelicans hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves in Louisiana.   

The Pelicans won the game by a score of 121-107, which snapped a six-game winning streak for the Timberwolves. 

Zion Williamson led the way with 36 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block while shooting 13/17 from the field in 33 minutes of playing time. 

Williamson also had a fantastic highlight during the game.

The 2021 NBA All-Star pulled off a fantastic spin move and finished the spectacular play with a layup between Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns (he also drew a foul). 

Williamson has played in 20 games so far this season and is averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 58.4% from the field. 

With the victory, the Pelicans improved to 13-11 in their first 24 games, which has them as the tenth seed in the Western Conference.  

They are now 9-4 in the 13 games they have hosted on their home floor in New Orleans.  

Following the Timberwolves, the Pelicans will play their next game on Wednesday evening when they visit the Washington Wizards. 

As for the Timberwolves, they dropped to 17-5 in their first 22 games, which still has them as the first seed in the Western Conference. 

They are now 7-4 in the 11 games they have played on the road away from the Target Center. 

Following the Pelicans, the Timberwolves will play their next game on Thursday evening when they visit Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in Texas.
