Ohio State's Jacy Sheldon was a top-five selection in this year's WNBA Draft. The former Buckeye was picked No. 5 overall, beginning her professional career with the Dallas Wings.

Sheldon, an Ohio native, was an outstanding scorer and defensive player for the Buckeyes during her career. During the 2023-24 season, Sheldon averaged 17.8 points, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

Because of Sheldon's efforts, Ohio State won an outright Big Ten regular season title. The Buckeyes ended the season with a 26-6 record, which included a 16-2 mark in league play.

Sheldon was a two-time second-team All-American selection and a two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection. She was also selected to the Big Ten's All-Defensive team in 2022 and 2024.

The Wings ended the 2023 season with a 22-18 record and reached the WNBA playoffs. Dallas has won three WNBA championships in franchise history, but the last one came over a decade ago, winning in 2008.

Sheldon is a good shooter and is capable of guarding the perimeter. She can create extra opportunities on the defensive end and is also good at finding teammates for open shots.

In four seasons at Ohio State, Sheldon averaged 15.6 points, 3.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
