3 NBA Teams That Should Sign Blake Griffin
I believe the Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder should consider signing Blake Griffin.
Blake Griffin was once among the best forward in the NBA when he played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Detroit Pistons.
Over the last few years, the six-time NBA All-Star has become a solid veteran that could be an excellent addition to many teams.
I believe three teams should consider signing Griffin for the 2023-24 season.
Who?
- Boston Celtics: Griffin played for the Celtics last year and averaged 4.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 48.5% from the field and 34.8% from the three-point range in 41 regular season games. The Celtics were the second seed with a 57-25 record and made the Eastern Conference Finals for the fifth time in the previous seven seasons. While Griffin didn't play a significant role on the court, he was regarded as an excellent veteran, and there is no reason the Celtics should not want to bring him back for next year.
- Oklahoma City Thunder: The Thunder are an extremely young team, but they had a surprising year where they finished as the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 40-42 record. They defeated the New Orleans Pelicans in the first play-in tournament game but ultimately lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second. Griffin could be the perfect veteran to add to their locker room and propel them into the 2024 NBA Playoffs. In addition, he is from Oklahoma and played his one season of college basketball for the Sooners.
- Denver Nuggets: The Nuggets are coming off a sensational year where they were the first seed in the Western Conference and won the 2023 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat. That said, they lost two key players (Jeff Green and Bruce Brown) during the offseason. Adding Griffin could provide some extra depth following the loss of those two veterans.
