Kelly Oubre Jr. is coming off a solid season where he averaged 20.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 43.1% from the field and 31.9% from the three-point range in 48 regular season games for the Charlotte Hornets.

This offseason, the eight-year veteran became a free agent and is available to sign with any team in the league.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Dallas Mavericks are interested in Oubre Jr.

Via Scotto's article on HoopsHype: "In other news, the Mavericks have also expressed exploratory interest in several free agent forwards, including Kelly Oubre Jr. and Derrick Jones Jr., league sources told HoopsHype."

In addition to the Hornets, Oubre Jr. has also spent time with the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards (he was initially the 15th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Kansas).

His career averages are 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 43.4% from the field and 33.0% from the three-point range in 527 regular season games (he has also appeared in 18 NBA playoff games).

While Oubre Jr. has never been an All-Star, he is a very talented player that is capable of putting up solid numbers and playing strong defense.

The Mavs have an elite roster that features superstars Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, but they are coming off a season where they went 38-44 and missed the NBA playoffs.

Despite their lackluster 2023 season, the Mavs will likely be a contender in the Western Conference in 2024.
