Phoenix Suns Reportedly Could Sign Intriguing Player
Bol Bol is coming off a career year where he averaged 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest while shooting 54.6% from the field in 70 games for the Orlando Magic.
However, he was waived by the team this week, so the 23-year-old is now a free agent.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Phoenix Suns could sign him.
Via Charania: "The Phoenix Suns are frontrunners to sign free agent Bol Bol, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Rival teams are expecting Bol to sign in near future with the Suns, who have deepened their roster this offseason."
In addition to the Magic, Bol Bol has also spent three seasons with the Denver Nuggets (he was the 44th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Oregon).
His career averages are 6.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 54.6% from the field in 123 regular season games (he has also appeared in seven NBA playoff games).
Coming out of high school, Bol Bol was ranked by ESPN as the fourth-best player in the class of 2018.
Bol Bol would be an extremely intriguing addition to the Suns because they already have their star players in Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton.
The only thing the Suns need are quality role players to fill out the roster with, and the former Oregon star would be able to fit that criteria.
This past year, the Suns were the fourth seed in the Western Conference and lost in the second round of the Playoffs to the Nuggets.
