Trackhouse Racing has become synonymous among NASCAR fans with their two-car tandem of the #99 and #1 Chevrolets.

Trackhouse is now adding two wheels to its farm, fielding two Aprilia MotoGP entries for the 2024 season.

The team, which was a surprise to many, will run the full MotoGP season, featuring riders Raul Fernandez and Miguel Oliveira, with Trackhouse planning on expanding even further beyond NASCAR in the future.

Majority team owner Justin Marks told Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern. "This is not a NASCAR team going motorcycle racing. This is the Trackhouse Entertainment Group identifying opportunities globally to participate in high-value events and championships. The long-term vision of Trackhouse was never just to build a great (NASCAR) Cup team.”

Fernandez and Oliveira, who both spent time last season with RNF MotoGP Team on Aprilia bikes, will be looking to hopefully improve their overall performance in the 2024 season after both riders failed to finish on the podium last season.

Oliveira is a solid candidate for the team, given his past experiences. But it will be interesting to see how competitive this new Trackhouse combo can be next season.

Given that there has been very little information in regards to the team's testing and work to prepare for 2024, it is very hard to tell where on the grid Marks' new group can finish.

Just based on past results for Aprilia, there is potential there, with the manufacturer having some solid performances since coming to MotoGP. But don't expect this team to be running up with the Ducati's of the world.

The question though out of all of this will be, "What's Next for Trackhouse?"

After hearing what Marks had to say, the possibilities – and the possibility of racing in other motorsport series – are seemingly endless.

Marks mentioned about the potential to run in the Indianapolis 500 in the not-so-distant future, but could we see Trackhouse on an IMSA grid or maybe even a Supercross entry?

There are endless open chances for this team to expand beyond NASCAR stock cars and could make this a Rick Ware-esque team, competing in multiple major forms of motorsports in the future.
