NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart came oh-so-close to becoming the first driver ever to win championships in NASCAR, IndyCar and NHRA.

But try as hard as he could, Stewart fell short and finished second in his pursuit of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Top Alcohol Dragster championship.

Stewart wound up a close second to Norway native Julie Nataas, finishing 21 points behind. To show how close the title race was, if Stewart had won two more rounds of eliminations at any point in the season, he likely would have won the TAD crown.

Nataas now celebrates her first NHRA championship, which also was the fourth championship in five years for the team Nataas drives for, Randy Meyer Racing.

Check out the video of Nataas after she claimed the title:

Nataas started in Junior Dragster in her native land at the age of 9 years old. The third-generation racer followed in the footsteps of her grandfather and father in Norway.

She eventually moved to America to pursue her dream of a championship, and now she can be called "champion."
