After he reportedly had food poisoning over the weekend of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Lando Norris has confirmed that he is "back to normal" as the weekend of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix approaches.

The McLaren driver missed the driver meeting on the Thursday of the Brazil GP, and was obviously not feeling his best as he struggled over the weekend. Despite this, he excelled during Friday's Practice session coming fourth fastest on the timesheets.

Even then, the Saturday saw the driver take an early retirement from FP2 before the last sprint race of the season, and very obviously found Sunday's race of 71 laps even more difficult.

"I don't think people saw how much I was struggling because Thursday was my worst day," he told the press ahead of the Abu Dhabi weekend.

"I was better every day but then yeah, I was hiding it and I was on a lot of meds for a good amount of days. I survived."

He was then asked how he felt going into the final race of the 2022 F1 season, in which he answered:

"Back to normal."

This race at Abu Dhabi will be the last race - as we know it - with Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo as McLaren teammates. We're hoping the latter will have better luck after a painful start to Brazil's Sunday where he retired from the race on the first lap after hitting Haas' Kevin Magnussen, pushing both cars off of the track.

Both cars was irreparable, breaking the hearts of many fans who were rooting for both the Australian driver and Magnussen who had solidified both his and the team's first ever pole position.

Hopefully the British team will have more luck this weekend as the season draws to a close.
