Move over, Reliant Robin - there's a new three-wheeled car in town! The Citroen Ami might have an extra wheel and a fancy battery pack, but that didn't stop it from taking a spill during a recent attempt to conquer the Monaco Grand Prix's infamous hairpin turn.

At just under 8 feet long and less than 5 feet wide, this little French microcar is certainly compact, but that didn't stop its driver from thinking big. With visions of F1 glory dancing in their head, they decided to tackle the Grand Hotel hairpin - a notoriously slow turn that's known to trip up even the fastest of racers.

Things started off well enough, with the Ami handling the uphill section like a champ. But when it came time for the downhill descent, things went sideways - literally. The car struggled for grip, caught some air, and before you could say "oh la la", it was upended and crashed into a sidewalk pole.

Thankfully, there no pedestrians were hurt by the Ami's acrobatics, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that the driver walked away unscathed. After all, this car might not have traction control, ABS, or airbags, but it's classified as a quadricycle in most of Europe, so it's legal to drive.

We might not recommend taking on the Grand Prix in a car like this, but we have to give the driver props for trying. With F1 cars taking this corner at just 30mph, it's no wonder the Ami took a tumble.
