Netflix have revealed the episode titles for the upcoming fifth season of Drive to Survive and they have not held back.

Season 5 will be released next Friday 24 February and will consist of ten episodes. Here is a breakdown of the savage episode titles.

Episode One: The New Dawn

ep 1

Starting off gently, the first episode is called "The New Dawn" with a thumbnail of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc with his then-team principal Mattia Binotto.

The Monegasque started the season off on a high note bagging the first pole position and first race win of the year at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Unfortunately, towards the second half of the season the team suffered from reliability and strategical issues which Netflix highlight later on.

Episode Two: Bounce Back

ep 2

Everyone will remember the controversial end of the 2021 season which left Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes determined to come back fighting for the title in 2022. However, things were quite the opposite for the Brackley-based squad with many issues on the W13 cars, especially porpoising (severe bouncing) at the beginning of the season.

Netlfix have shared this title with a photo of Mercedes team principal and CEO Toto Wolff looking very uncomfortable and disappointed with the performance of the W13.

Episode Three: Like Father, Like Son

ep 3

Episode three will likely focus on the British Grand Prix which was a big moment for Mick Schumacher as he achieved his first F1 points. His father Michael Schumacher is one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time, and this moment will have felt like he was following in his fathers footsteps.

Episode Four: Matter Of Principal

ep 4

As mentioned before, Ferrari started to experience issues with reliability but also some terrible strategical errors. One which sticks out is when the team attempted to double-stack Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc's pitstops but the team were then not ready for the latter so he ended up having to wait, ruining his race.

Many have concluded the strategical issues were a huge contributing factor in Mattia Binotto's resignation as Ferrari team principal at the end of the season.

Episode Five: Hot Seat

ep 5

Sergio Perez was struggling to match Max Verstappen's performance in the Red Bull RB18. However, when it came to the Monaco Grand Prix, Perez crashed in qualifying which resulted in him starting in front of Verstappen on the grid. The Mexican driver went on to win the race.

There was a lot of controversy surrounding this as many thought that Perez crashed on purpose in order to put him in a better position than his teammate. These speculations resurfaced at the Brazilian Grand Prix when Verstappen refused team orders to let Perez past to help him in his battle to come second in the drivers' championship.

Episode Six: Pardon My French

ep 6

Spanish driver Fernando Alonso drove for Alpine in 2022 alongside French driver Esteban Ocon. The pair came to blows on track multiple times and the friction within the team became obvious.

Alonso announced that he would be moving to Aston Martin for 2023 after Sebastian Vettel's retirement from the team.

Episode Seven: Nice Guys Finish Last

ep 7

This is where Netflix start to really hold nothing back, with the title put over a photo of McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo.

The Australian driver struggled with the McLaren throughout the 2022 season and the team revealed that they were parting ways with the eight-time grand prix winner at the end of the season. Things went from bad to worse for Ricciardo after he was not picked up by another team for a permanent seat in 2023. He instead has made a return to Red Bull as a reserve driver.

Episode Eight: Alpha Male

ep 8

The eighth episode seems to delve into the 'bromance' between AlphaTauri driver's Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda. The title features a photo of the pair filming in a car in the background.

Some fan highlights from the year was the duo sharing some behind-the-scenes moments of them doing karaoke together. Gasly announced towards the end of the season that he would be moving to Alpine for 2023.

Episode Nine: Over The Limit

ep 9

One of the main things to take over headlines last year was Red Bull exceeding the cost cap limit for the 2021 season. Many fans were outraged that the Austrian team had overspent on the same year Max Verstappen had won his first championship.

In the end the team were handed a $7 million fine and a 10% reduction in wind tunnel time for the upcoming 2023 season. Verstappen was able to keep his title.

Episode Ten: End Of The Road

ep 10

The last episode will likely show the end of the season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The title has a photo of the Mercedes W13 which the team were very happy to put behind them.

The end of the 2022 season also saw the 'end of the road' for some of the drivers. Sebastian Vettel headed into his retirement, Mick Schumacher lost his seat with Haas, and Daniel Ricciardo lost his seat with McLaren.
