Red Bull Germany has posted a promotional photo of a driver holding a helmet which fans are convinced is Vettel for the Red Bull Formula Nurburgring.

The event, which is due to take place on 9th and 10th September, has already confirmed that Daniel Ricciardo will be taking part "alongside other former F1 drivers".

Formula 1 cars will make a triumphant return to the legendary Nordschleife as part of the 12h Nürburgring. With the Red Bull Formula Nürburgring promising a thrilling mixture of emerging talent and legendary drivers, this event is set to be a high point of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. Fans can expect breathtaking displays from motorsport legends alongside the exhilarating 12h Nürburgring races, promising an action-packed weekend. Taking to social media, fans have expressed their excitement over the potential of seeing Vettel back in an F1 seat. One fan posted to the teaser, hilariously:

The team are due to make the official announcement later today and it is fair to say that fans are going to be incredibly disappointed if it is not the iconic driver.

Someone else commented:

"Please be Sebastian please please please"

Another fan posted to Twitter a breakdown of why they believe it is Vettel. They wrote:

"Anyways as for the teaser IG post by RB Germany my gut feel it’s Seb due to the helmet and the color of the bit of hair on the upper left corner of the pic 2/2"
