F1 Makes Huge Mistake With Pierre Gasly's Dutch GP Podium
Eagle-eyed fans have called out Formula One after making an obvious mistake during the Dutch GP podium celebrations.
The race in Zandvoort came to a close yesterday with Max Verstappen matching Sebastian Vettel's record of winning nine consecutive races. Joining the Dutch driver on the podium were Fernando Alonso and Pierre Gasly. However, Formula One made an unfortunate mistake whilst Gasly walked out onto the podium which fans were quick to pick up on.

Gasly celebrated his fourth career podium finish and first with the Alpine team after Sergio Perez was handed a five-second penalty which saw him lose his third-place finish. As the Frenchman walked out onto the podium, his teammate Esteban Ocon's name was plastered everywhere.
Taking to Reddit, fans ran wild with the awkward mistake.
One fan commented, jokingly:
"Who’s that French guy for Alpine? Gascon? Yeah that sounds right."
Another fan pointed that Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft picked up on a mistake during the broadcast. They wrote:
"The broadcast makes mistakes too. Croft actually corrected them somewhere this weekend, where it said on screen that it was Gasly and Croft was like 'I'm pretty sure that is Esteban Ocon', and it was, and the on screen text got corrected like 3 seconds later."
Someone else hilariously joked about this being the reason Ocon received so many track limits penalties during the Austrian Grand Prix. The Frenchman beat his own record of the most amount of penalties given in a race during the race at the Red Bull Ring. The fan commented:
"So thats why he got so much track limit penalties in Austria"
Another fan ran with a similar joke, posting:
"Incoming penalty to Ocon for improperly appearing on the podium."
