F1 News: 2026 Regulations Outlined in New Report
Whether you are a long time Formula One fan or someone who is just joining in on the driving fun, I think it's safe to say that seeing Red Bull and Max Verstappen win every race right now is getting kind of tiresome.
But maybe its something that everyone should enjoy while it lasts, because once 2026 comes around, there will be a lot of changes coming to the World of F1.
Announced last year at the Belgian Grand Prix, German Manufacturer Audi, has claimed their F1 entry as a power unit supplier.
Audi has also announced to join forces with Sauber as their days with Alfa Romeo come to an end. Their time in the race circuit will begin in 2026.
As exciting as it is to have a new team joining Formula One, it has to be known how cautious the rest of the paddock is about the addition of Audi, especially since the racing championship is planning to have a Net Zero Carbon league by 2030, Audi holds the advantage in their power unit knowledge.
According to F1 Insider, Toby Gruner, there are some regulations that will be adapted when we see the huge regulation change of 2026.
The 2026 cars have to use 30 kgs of fuel only to generate electric power, Wheelbases are set to be shortened by 30 centimeters, and new gearboxes will only have six gears rather than the usual eight we are used to seeing today.
There is an exciting future for Formula One, and sometimes change can be a scary thing, and the addition of Audi and plenty of new regulations in the coming years will leave many teams worried.
