In a recent Williams team press release, Alex Albon candidly spoke about the hurdles the team encountered during the Bahrain Grand Prix. According to Albon, the car's performance was not up to par, primarily due to a lack of comprehensive testing prior to the race. He commented:

"The car itself was okay but we're far behind. We had issues the whole race with things that if we had done more running in testing, we would've been able to avoid. We were overheating the entire race and were down on power, so hopefully we can take a look at the data and arrive in Jeddah in better shape." 

The Bahrain Grand Prix was fraught with challenges for the Williams team. Early in the race, Logan Sargeant faced a steering problem that briefly forced him off track, while Albon later reported similar steering wheel issues. By the 34th lap, Albon was also experiencing significant engine problems with his FW46, adding to the team's woes.

Despite these setbacks, Albon pointed out the competitive nature of the midfield, suggesting that Williams could still play a significant role in the battles ahead. He added:

"Our pace relative to the others is quite similar so that midfield battle is close and will be tough."

The Bahrain Grand Prix saw Max Verstappen take the victory, with Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz completing the podium. Albon finished 15th, showcasing the challenging race for Williams amidst a competitive field.
