F1 News: AlphaTauri Team Chief Is Hoping To Win Over America As He Blames Popularity On Drive To Survive

Franz Tost has discussed why the AlphaTauri AT04 release was aimed at the US market.

AlphaTauri revealed the AT04 today in a short video posted to their YouTube channel and team principal Franz Tost has revealed why they held the event in the US.

The video showed their 2023 contender travel to New York City and was eventually showed at the end of the clip with the new driver line-up, Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries standing beside it with models for the AlphaTauri AW23 collection behind them. 

Speaking about the launch and the upcoming 2023 season, team principal Franz Tost has explained:

“Formula 1 has seen a growing popularity in recent years thanks to Netflix and social media. 

"It is vital that we continue to grow in this market and I am happy that we launched the 2023 livery here in New York to show our appreciation to the US public. 

"It's exciting that AlphaTauri showcased their new collection at the event, as this year is the first time they've sold their apparel in America."

The AT04 features the navy and white livery with added red accents for the teams new principal partner, Orlen. 

The next two launches to look out for are McLaren and Aston Martin who will be revealing their 2023 cars on Monday 13 February.
