Alpine has suffered another double DNF during the Hungarian Grand Prix, today.

Both Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly sustained substantial damage to their A523 F1 cars after Zhou Guanyu clipped the rear of Gasly causing the two Alpine's to collide with one going over the other. Daniel Ricciardo also got caught up in the mess but managed to navigate his way around it, narrowly missing out on damage.

The team quickly called both drivers to the pits and it was confirmed shortly after that there was too much damage to continue with the race. So, both cars were out before the end of Lap 1.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time the team has had this misfortune as the British Grand Prix ended in the same way two weeks ago.

Guanyu has been handed a five-second penalty for the Turn 1 collision which ended the race for Alpine.

Alpine lost a place in the constructors' championship to McLaren after the race in Silverstone putting them into sixth position with 47 points. There is a fair gap behind them to Williams in seventh position with 11 points.
