F1 News: Andretti Cadillac's Second Rebuttal To Formula 1 - “Our Work Continues At Pace”
Andretti Cadillac's second rebuttal to Formula 1 comes days after the new team disagreed with the FOM's decision to pause its entry into Formula 1 until 2028. Listing key points, the American outfit emphasized that the work to compete in Formula 1 in the near future "continues at pace'.
The Formula 1 Management (FOM) rejected Andretti Cadillac's application to compete in F1 by 2025 or 2026. The lengthy justification for doing so attracted severe criticism from fans and Formula 1 well-wishers, especially when the governing authority, the FIA, had approved its entry into the sport last year.
Following the denial, Andretti Cadillac issued a statement expressing disagreement with FOM's assertions. Subsequently, the team released a second statement on Friday, highlighting the indicated year of entry that was approved by the FIA, and addressing the assertion that Andretti Cadillac had declined a meeting with the FOM. The statement read:
“Andretti Cadillac would like to address two initial topics in the statement released by Formula One Management:
“When Andretti Cadillac entered the FIA expression of interest process almost a year ago, the preferred first year of participation was indicated as 2025. The FIA approved our application, with no specific limitation on whether the entry was for 2025 or 2026.
“Andretti Cadillac has been operating with 2026 as the year of entry for many months now. The technicality of 2025 still being part of the application is a result of the length of this process.
“We were not aware that the offer of a meeting had been extended and would not decline a meeting with Formula One Management.
“An in-person meeting to discuss commercial matters would be and remains of paramount importance to Andretti Cadillac. We welcome the opportunity to meet with Formula One Management and have written to them confirming our interest.
“Our work continues at pace.”
