Charles Leclerc has caused a stir on social media after he was spotted cycling around the streets of Monte Carlo ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix yesterday.

The Monegasque driver started from sixth position on the grid for his home race after being handed a three-place grid penalty after qualifying for impeding Lando Norris in the tunnel. After the dramatic and chaotic race, Leclerc crossed the line in the same position as he started.

Fans were shocked to see the Ferrari driver take the streets by bike ahead of the race. One shared a video to Twitter, writing:

"Lol imagine driving in Monaco and seeing Charles riding his bike behind you"

Others were quick to react to the moment, with one poking fun at the ongoing Red Bull dominance. They commented:

"POV you are Verstappen in RB19"

The Austrian team has won every race of the 2023 season including Monaco where Max Verstappen took the win after starting from pole position. Red Bull are currently leading the constructors' championship by 129 points ahead of Aston Martin and Verstappen is leading the drivers' standings by 39 points ahead of his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez.

Another fan took a different approach, hopefully joking. They wrote:

"Brake check him"

Someone else explained that they would probably get so nervous that they would forget how to drive. They responded:

"I would probably forget how to drive like when you forget how to walk naturally when somebody is watching you"

The next stage of the 2023 season will be the Spanish Grand Prix this coming weekend, 2-4 June, where Ferrari and Mercedes will be looking to turn things around and make the most of their recent upgrades.
