Ferrari disappointed its fans yesterday during qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix, when poor strategy meant Charles Leclerc started in P10 - far further back than he deserved.

The Monegasque complained following his poor qualifying campaign, admitting that he didn't agree with his Italian team.

"This time it wasn't hard to read that it was a dry track. I said that on the out lap. I don't know why we stayed with intermediates on a dry track," Leclerc said at the time.

"We went on slicks when it started to rain. It was supposed to be an easy session, so I don't agree with the team."

Continuing, he added:

“Not the first time that something like this has happened. Quite often we are on the wrong side of such decisions in difficult situations. We will deal with this internally. I don’t want to say what will happen, but of course there will be a discussion and an analysis.”

Later, with his tail between his legs, Leclerc went back on what he said about his team. But Ralph Schumacher, the brother of the legendary Michael Schumacher, has commented on the racer's reaction.

“That’s amateurish,” the former driver said on Sky F1 Deutschland.

“I think the drivers make a lot of mistakes, the team stands behind them and says little,” he added. “But the drivers scream more than the team, it has to be said.

“The question is: how do they get together?”

Leclerc went on to take P4, with his teammate Carlos Sainz a single place behind him. Max Verstappen, unsurprisingly, took the win - the 100th win for Red Bull.
