Piastri lost control at Turn 3, resulting in a collision with the race barrier. Following closely behind, Ricciardo couldn't react quickly enough to avoid the already wrecked McLaren, leading him to crash into the barrier as well.
This caused the session to halt with a red flag after just ten minutes. Currently, track officials are making efforts to clear the McLaren MCL60 and AlphaTauri AT04, aiming to restart the session.
We later heard Ricciardo complain about his hands over his team radio and onboard footage showed that he did not have enough time to take his hand off the steering wheel before he crashed into the wall.
The team has not provided any updates on Ricciardo's condition at the moment.
