F1 News: Daniel Ricciardo Sets His Sights On Red Bull Seat For Next Year - "Plan A"
Daniel Ricciardo, reserve driver for Red Bull Racing, was quite open about his feelings regarding a potential return to the Formula 1 grid in the upcoming season. This Australian racer, known for his buoyant spirit, recently mused that winding up his career with the illustrious Red Bull team—under the guidance of Christian Horner, Helmut Marko, and lead driver Max Verstappen—would be a 'dream-come-true' scenario.
In an interview with Crash.net, Ricciardo candidly shared his thoughts on possibly transferring to AlphaTauri.
"I remain open-minded. But if there is the opportunity to be here [Red Bull]... The truth is that this is where I want to be [at Red Bull]. I'm not going to beat around the bush."
When asked about how soon he wants to be back on the grid, he said:
"I would love to be back on the grid next year," he said. "If it doesn't work out the way I would like and I'm back on the sidelines next year, that's not my Plan A, but I wouldn't go completely crazy."
Current rumours suggest that Red Bull will be taking on the Australian driver while they can bring in Alex Palou and train him to racing shape. This hasn't been confirmed by the team, but it being whispered throughout the paddock.
