F1 News: Fans Run Wild With "Hilarious" Valtteri Bottas Moment Caught On Camera

Ever seen an F1 driver crash his bike?

Fans have been having fun on social media platform Reddit after a user uploaded a hilarious photo of Valtteri Bottas falling in the bush after being involved in a minor accident on his bicycle near Suzuka, just ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix. 

So far, the Finnish F1 driver has earned six points for his team Alfa Romeo Sauber, which ends its partnership with Alfa Romeo at the end of this season. Next year, it will operate under a different name which is yet to be announced.

Bottas would continue his F1 journey with the team for the third consecutive year in 2024, including teammate Zhou Guanyu. However, the 34-year-old driver has had a bad start to the weekend after being dropped out of Q1 in Saturday's qualifying. 

However, that isn't the only setback Bottas faced in Japan. As per the Reddit user who uploaded the story of Bottas falling off the bike. There was a loud thud when the incident occurred, hinting that the fall was a pretty hard one. Here's the full story:

"I had just parked my car at the Suzuka course in the morning when I saw Bottas riding up ahead on his bike. He saw me in full ARo [Alfa Romeo] gear and took the initiative to wave to me, and since it was so sudden I couldn't even reach for my mobile phone, I just took a picture of his back.

"Bizarrely, a few seconds later there was a loud bang in the distance and it turned out to be him falling to the ground with his bike! Seems like he tripped over a white protrusion on the side of the road. Bike accidents of F1 drivers, I actually witnessed one of them with my own eyes. I hope the top driver Bottas is okay!"

However, there is a comedic side to this when you actually look at the image of Bottas having fallen down beside his bike. Fans posted funny replies on the thread which makes the scene a lot funnier. Here are a few of them:
