Two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso has revealed one of his biggest regrets from his long and successful career.

The Spanish driver entered his F1 rookie season back in 2003 with Renault and has since driven for McLaren, Ferrari, Alpine, and now Aston Martin. Throughout his career, the 42-year-old has secured two-championship titles, 32 race wins, 104 podium finishes, 22 pole positions, and 23 fastest laps.

Speaking in a short clip promoting the next episode of the High Perfomance podcast, Alonso reflected on his career so far and revealed one of his biggest regrets. He explained:

"2010, 2012 we were within a few laps of winning a World Championship. And that probably could've changed the outcome of many things and the history behind a few things.

"What I regret for sure, was not to enjoy my career and my time more. I know I'm at the end of it and there will be a new life in a few years time without driving. When I look back at my career, I will see a lot of good things. A lot of good friendships and incredible experiences.

"But I should've enjoyed it more. If I had the chance to live my exact life once more, I will just change to live a bit in those moments and try to have more memories from those moments. I won the championship in Brazil in 2005 and 2006, I hardly remember anything from those afternoons and nights which is sad."
