F1 News: Ferrari Team Boss Reveals - "Would Be Thrilled" To Have Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen is the most wanted driver in F1.

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has revealed that all team bosses would love to have three-time world champion Max Verstappen on board their team. He then jokingly passed a jibe at Red Bull, stating that Versatppen's contract won't allow him to do so because it lasts until "2045."

The Dutchman has unofficially claimed the title of the most wanted driver in the Formula 1 paddock, considering his performance in the ground effect era that got him 19 Grand Prix wins out of the 22 this year.

The combination of the RB19 and Verstappen proved to be deadly for the other teams as Red Bull remained unbeaten on all occasions except one in Singapore, where Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz claimed a Grand Prix win. While the Maranello-based team could use that one victory to boast about this year, Red Bull could conveniently brush it under the carpet and no one would bat an eye.

Verstappen has broken more than 18 records this year. He even surpassed former F1 driver Sebastian Vettel's record of 54 race wins. If the former continues the trend of dominating the Formula 1 grid in 2024, he will even equal the latter's championship count of 4 titles.

Ferrari is the only team on the F1 grid to have won a race this year apart from Red Bull. So, it is trying its best to work on its 2024 title contender since a potent car is the need of the hour for the team.

Speaking on the lack of availability of Verstappen since he is bound by a contract with Red Bull until 2028, Vasseur jokingly told Corriere dello Sport:

"All ten team managers would be thrilled to have him, but I think he has a contract until 2045.

"But let's not waste energy talking about it, let's focus on ourselves."
