F1 News: Ferrari Wows At The Miami Grand Prix As Lewis Hamilton Finds Pace

It was a dramatic qualifying session, but Ferrari is obviously showing dominance at the all-new track.

There's a Ferrari lockout for the first time since the Mexico Grand Prix in 2019 and the fans are LOVING IT. Charles Leclerc takes pole followed closely by teammate Carlos Sainz. Following the Ferraris was the Red Bull duo: Max Verstappen coming third and Sergio Perez fourth. 

Valtteri Bottas placed 5th, one place ahead of ex-Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton who struggled less this weekend. He certainly did better than George Russell who couldn't reach Q3. 

The track was certainly showing sections of low traction, and this was something Hamilton was finding especially difficult to navigate, but overall it's fair to say that Ferrari are in a very strong position ahead of tomorrow. 

"The pit stop is going to be crucial because no one has done a long run, so we don't know what the deg is on these tyres," Red Bull team principal Christian Horner says. "With these DRS sites, there's going to be plenty of overtaking."
