Footage has been released to social media of a fight breaking out between fans at the Mexican Grand Prix. The video shows a fan going up to another, who looks to be sporting a Ferrari team t-shirt, and beginning to physically attack them.

An aggressive fight breaks out between the two until others close by intervene to stop the conflict, but not before the altercation reaches a high point. The instigator could be seen punching the supposed Ferrari fan in the head multiple times.

Many fans on social media have speculated that the apparent instigator is a Red Bull and Sergio Perez fan. The Mexican driver's race came to an early exit after he collided with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc at the first corner of Lap 1. Despite Perez making it clear to the media following his exit that he didn't put any blame on the Monegasque driver, it seems some of the fans do not agree with this.

Although emotions run high amongst fans watching the races, there is no place for behaviour like this.

Fans have been reacting to the shocking footage on social media.

"Looks angry Checo fans at Ferrari fans maybe??"

"Adrenaline is high… but this is ridiculous"

"This is vile oh my god"

"What a shame that this happens in this beautiful sport"
