Circuit of the Americas witnessed a strong show from Lewis Hamilton during the qualifying session where he finished in P3 for Sunday's race.

Reflecting on it, Hamilton stated:

"Yeah, good session for us. Really grateful for the improvements that the team have made with the car."

It's clear that Mercedes, amid the fierce competition from teams like McLaren, Ferrari, and Red Bull, has been putting in significant efforts. These endeavours are evident in the car's performance, drawing it closer to the front of the grid.

When probed further about the nuanced changes the car underwent, Hamilton remarked:

"The car it feels almost the same. It's just levelled up in pretty much everywhere."

With James Allison now at the helm of the W14's development after a poor start to these new regulations, the Brackley team will be excited to hear their drivers' feedback this weekend.

Hamilton's track record at the Circuit of the Americas is nothing short of exemplary. Apart from one instance, he's always found his way to the podium. Yet, when questioned about his prospects for the upcoming Grand Prix, he remains grounded.

"Too early to say. None of us have done any long-running. So I have no idea," Hamilton shared.

"Maybe with the Red Bull not in the top three, maybe that makes it a better, closer battle maybe, because they're often quite a bit ahead and just disappear into the distance. So hopefully the three of us can have a tight battle," he mused.
