Sargeant will have been on a high after getting through to Q3 for the first time in his F1 career but unfortunately this was short lived when he crashed into the race wall at Turn 2 just a couple of minutes into the session.
A red flag has been put on the session and the clock paused until the FW45 is removed from the track. The team shared to social media:
"Logan hits the wall and unfortunately that's his quali over. He reports that he's ok and he's out of the car. It's still a top 10 start for our American tomorrow"
The team will now be relying on Albon for the remainder of Q3 to stay near the top of the timesheets.
It is currently unclear how much damage Sargeant's FW45 sustained, however, the front right of the car seemed to bear the brunt of the impact.
