Logan Sargeant is out of the third free practice session ahead of qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix later today.

As the third practice session got going, the drivers were keen to get out and get some laps under their belts with dark clouds looming over the track as well as lightning close by.

Just ten minutes into the session we saw the American driver lose control on the last corner (Turn 14) and collide with the race wall. The team confirmed that Sargeant was out of the session to social media.

"Red flag. Logan sadly has made contact with the wall after going off at the final corner as the rain rolls in. He reports back that he's ok as he jumps out of the car."

The team will now be working on Sargeant's car in order to assess the damages and make any necessary repairs before the qualifying session later today.

As the rain begins to fall over the track, it is highly expected that this will not be the only dramatic moment we see.

As the marshals clear the car from the track, a red flag has been put on the session. With about forty five minutes to go, Max Verstappen has put in the fastest time followed by his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes.
