Renowned for his fiercely competitive spirit behind the wheel of an F1 car, Max Verstappen has taken this same spirit into the world of sim racing, recently sparking outrage amongst his fans. The champion driver, quite surprisingly, recently extended his aggression into a race where he controversially clashed with competitor Sven Haase. Twitter has since erupted with fans voicing their shock and disappointment at the Dutch driver's actions.

As the race reached its half way point, Haase hit the RB19 driver from behind, causing him to spin while also taking out his teammate, Diogo Pinto. Following this, in a bid to seek revenge, Verstappen cut through the escape area at Les Combes to get closer to the driver that ruined his race, and when reaching Bruxelles, he slammed into the rival's car taking them both off the track.

"Sven Haase is certainly not Max Verstappen's best friend after all that," the commentary voiced.

"Typical Verstappen, unsportsmanlike as always," one Twitter user posted upon seeing the action unfold.

A second added: "What a suprise, Max throwing a tantrum and wrecking someone because they dont roll the red carpet out for him. He is an arrogant, spoiled little child." [sic]

A third, angry with his behaviour on the virtual track, posted: "How pathetic from the actual king of F1 racing.... Bravo Maxi you really did a good job. Daddy must be very proud." [sic]

The reactions weren't all negative, however, with several seeing a similarity in their ability to rage quit a racing game with the F1 champion.

"Just became even more of a Verstappen fan," one joked.

"Really brings max down to earth shows anyone can rage quit a race," another added.

This behaviour from the reigning F1 champion resulted in him being disqualified from the race with immediate effect.
