F1 News: Max Verstappen Expects Huge Improvements In Red Bull Despite Complete Dominance
If there is a possibility of upgrading or improving excellence, then we're sure Max Verstappen wasn't joking when he said that there are a few things that need to be improved on his Red Bull RB19 Formula 1 car.
Verstappen has been racing in full glory as he took his sixth win in a row at the British Grand Prix last weekend. The reigning world champion leads the pack by a huge margin. So much so that the points difference between him and teammate Sergio Perez at 2nd place is 99.
Despite the success, Verstappen says there is scope for further improvement. When he was asked what areas would he like to see the car improved, he said:
"Drag, low speed, medium speed, high speed, DRS effect, tyre wear… All of these areas. That's what we're working on! Braking performance. Yeah, I'm not kidding.
The improvements needed are not only with the car but also with the way the team functions since Verstappen shook them up on the radio when Ferrari made a pitstop during the British Grand Prix. He said:
"Yeah, I just wanted to check in with the team. Make sure that they didn't fall asleep.
"We would have probably pitted quite soon anyway. I still need to ask the team if we would have pitted onto a Soft or still on a Hard tyre, I don't know, probably on the Soft, but maybe that's why it's good that the Safety Car came out and saved a few laps. But I don’t know at the moment,"
It's great to see Verstappen not settle in the 'pole sitter' comfort zone but strive toward perfection despite the wins.
